SAP B1 v10 Release Highlights
The release of SAP Business One version 10.0 is significant on many fronts.
It introduces an enhanced user interface and a new Web client along with many small yet welcome enhancements such as improved document management, enhanced printing & enhanced periodic posting, extended field lengths, an interactive Gantt chart within the projects section of SAP Business One, extended user definable fields, triggers and formatted searches and an enhanced workflow approval process.
The key product areas of sales & purchasing, project management, inventory & distribution and production include various enhancements to core functionality that aid with system usability.
From a technical perspective the product extensibility / platform has been extended and enhanced including Microsoft Office 365 integration and exposure of the service layer for Microsoft SQL Server and HANA.
The SAP Business One Integration Hub is a great place to start exploring the many possibilities the SAP platform- extensibility changes represents.
However, it is the new U/I and Web client with SAP Business One version 10.0 that has people talking.
- The Web Client is based on SAP Fiori design principles encapsulating SAP Business One core processes and business logic alongside an advanced user experience. The Web Client provides some sophisticated analytic charting capabilities and in the first instance is focused on creation, processing and updating of Sales Quotations, Sales Orders, A/R Deliveries, and A/R Invoices. For an optimized user experience the Web Client should be launched on either a desktop computer or tablet, using the Google Chrome or Firefox web browser. The Web Client can also be launched directly from the regular SAP Business One desktop application.
The new U/I more clearly display the company a user is logged into and supports a one click switch between companies.
